Flower market

This is a semi-famous flower market of San Angel in Mexico City. Although it’s called that, there aren’t many flower sellers and they are only on the outside of the market. Inside is kind of sincretistic and contains food, voodoo and santeria suplies, but very cheap and not so interesting. There are a lot of herbolaria stands, both medicinal and “esoteric” ones. Pay attention on the images of stands of “velas”, candles: do you know what they are for? Well they are largely used in rituals here in Mexico, and each of the color of the candles has significance. Black candles, however, are used to harm people, or at least that’s what folks believe here. As I heard, you just light one of those and dedicate it to somebody and that should bring disharmony in their lives.
